Linux, Best Performing Member of the x86 Unix Family

This report clearly shows the superiority of the performance of Linux (2.6 and 2.4) on x86. I am glad Linux has kept the steady pace of improvements. I remember right around when Linux kernel 2.4 went production (was it 3 years ago?), Moshe Bar did something similar between Linux and FreeBSD with MySQL and found FreeBSD to be a little faster. It looks like time has changed.
